Pham Vu Hoang, PhD is Deputy Director General of General Office for Population and Family Planning (GOPFP), Ministry of Health (MOH) in Viet Nam. He was Director of Center for Population Research, Information and Database (CPRID), GOPFP, MOH and also the editor-in-chief of the “Population and Development” magazine, is one of very few magazine about population. He graduated from Faculty of Economic Math, National Economic University, Vietnam in 1996. In 2013, he received the PhD from National Economic University, Vietnam with the thesis entitled ‘The methods to improve the quality of care for elderly people in Vietnam’. In 20 years working in GOPFP, Dr. Pham Vu Hoang wrote many research articles and publications on population, especially research articles about the elderly in Viet Nam. In 2013, he was officially nominated for the Commissioners for the Global Commission on Ageing in Developing Countries.
