Dr Kitahara graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine in 1979, he established Kitahara Neurosurgical Hospital (Currently, as Kitahara International Hospital) in Hachioji City, Tokyo in 1995.

He currently operates five facilities in Japan and one in Cambodia, to provide consistent medical care from emergency and surgery to home care and rehabilitation.

Stating philosophy as "Transforming Healthcare and the World through Wisdom and Healing” to bring happiness to as many people as possible, Kitahara group challenges the export of medical services to Vietnam, Thailand, Central Asian countries, and other countries out of Japan.

Dr Kitahara also initiated ”Kitahara Total Life Support Club” that enables citizens to live a safe, secure, comfortable, and pleasant life even in a super-aging society.
